Promoting the life and times of Mary, Queen of Scots

Talk – Margaret Lumsdaine, 31 Jan 17

Margaret Lumsdaine, an Honorary member of the Society and former President, will reprise for us the talk she gave at Paisley Abbey on 10 September 2016.  Her talk, which she was invited to give at the Stewart 700 Conference, was entitled “The Rich Dynastic Inheritance of Mary, Queen of Scots, from her Stewart Queen Ancestors”.  It consists of a brief summary of all the Stewart Queen Consorts from Marie de Guise right back to Euphemia Ross, wife of Robert II, and what they may have passed on in character or inheritance to our Queen Mary.

Margaret’s talk will be in the library of the Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh on Tuesday 31 January 2017 commencing at 7pm.

A table is booked at Vittoria’s Restaurant, 19 George IV Bridge for a meal at 5pm.  Please contact the branch chair by 24 January if you would like to join.
