Monday 17 July – Talk by David Templeman based on his book “Mary, Queen of Scots. The Captive Queen in England 1568-87”.
The proposed date is Saturday 22nd April, with Glasgow as the venue. The agenda, minutes of 2016 AGM, and the Office-Bearers’ reports will be issued with the February Journal along with booking details.

“Understanding the Needlework of Mary Queen of Scots” by Susanna Blackshaw, 4th Oct To be held at the Quaker Meeting House. This talk will be at 2pm with lunch beforehand.
A member, Jerry Ozaniec, will lead a walk retracing Mary’s formal entry into Edinburgh on her return to Scotland in 1561. The visit to Traquair in August will be on SATURDAY 20TH AUGUST, not Thursday 18th as previously intimated. The Society donated a new bench at Sheffield Manor Lodge – the unveiling took place on 9 April during the Annual Gathering. This was well attended by English and Scottish branch members.
The presentation by Arran Johnston will be at 7pm in the Quaker Meeting House, Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh with a meal beforehand. There are also presentations throughout the day at Edinburgh Castle about James VI – this may be included as a visit – details to be advised.
A visit is proposed to Coventry on Sunday 3rd July when a local guide has been hired to take the group round the Guildhall and past the Whitefriars where Mary is reputed to have spent some time.
